ABOUT THE BUSINESS:
Layish focused on the district she knew well and opened
the launderette at the B Commercial Center in Ashdod,
after surveying the business environment and her
potential customer profile.
There was previously no launderette in the area and, to
begin with, she opened the business in a small 22 sq.m.
store.
After gaining some experience in managing her own
business, and after steady growth in demand, Layish
decided to move her business activities to a larger
alternative store at the commercial center.
Today, Layish runs the launderette at the B Commercial
Center from a 40 sq.m. store, and she has just bought a
small vehicle, so that she can make deliveries. Layish is
expanding the business in small incremental steps.
Layish is an intelligent and assertive woman and is
carefully planning her business path, but also remains
strongly connected to her roots. She employs youth from
the Ethiopian community who help her with running the
business.
Layish would like to thank the UJA
Federation of New York Loan Fund for
Israel for its assistance with purchasing
equipment for the launderette, for the
faith it placed in her, and for the path she is
following thanks to the Fund’s help.
