ENTREPRENEUR’S BACKGROUND:
Balsam served in the Israeli Border Police, and then earned a
degree in management and industrial practical engineering
at the Jordan Valley College.
After completing his studies, he worked at the Eilat branch of the Aroma Espresso Bar chain for around three years.
During that time, he learned all aspects of the business, from the level of the maintenance workers up to the level of
manager. He then became manager of the Aroma Espresso Bar branch in Ovdat National Park in the Negev, a position
he held for two years.
His excellent performance in Ovdat earned Balsam a reputation in the Aroma chain as a “branch stabilizer,” and Aroma
started sending him to branches all over Israel that were experiencing difficulties. They also sent him to Cyprus to set
up an Aroma branch there.
