ABOUT THE BUSINESS:
In 1997, the entrepreneurs founded their company for the
production and sale of goat cheese. Tzonel produces a
range of cheeses: spread cheeses, cheese dipped in olive
oil and spices, a variety of mature cheeses, hard cheeses,
and yogurt.
Over the years, Tal and Adi have invested significantly
in Tzonel, and have accumulated valuable know-how in
the production of superb goat cheeses. Their products
are sold at farmers’ markets in Israel’s center (Tel Aviv
and Herzeliya) on Thursdays and Fridays. Tzonel employs
5 personnel.
With the help of the loan that Tzonel
received through the Detroit Development
Loan Fund, Tal and Adi upgraded the
dairy’s production equipment, making the
production process more efficient. They
also added another half-time employee.
They are also working on establishing a
point of sale at the Ramat Yishai “Street
Mall,” with a view to expanding their
marketing and sales.
