ENTREPRENEUR’S BACKGROUND:
Yael Reem Mitzafon is a third generation horse breeder. Her paternal grandfather, Yoel Mitzafon, was a member of
Hashomer movement, and subsequently bred Arabian horses. Yael’s maternal grandmother, Ruth Hassidov, was one of
the first female jockeys in the country who engaged in showjumping, and she bred horses in her yard for many years.
Yael’s childhood best friend was the mare with which she grew up, from when she was a baby, on Moshav Ein Yahav. She
used go on horse treks from the age of 8, together with her father, across the Arava Desert and, in those days, everyone
saw her a true cowgirl!
At the age of 11 she began to ride at the Jockey Club Farm (then at Kfar Shmaryahu) and, two years later, she began
taking part in dressage and showjumping competitions. She quickly found her place among the best youth riders in
Reem Farm
