P. 5

Youth Movement Shlichim coordinate Israel-engagement activities and supervise counselors for Zionist youth
movements in 30 countries.
Morim Shlichim (Teacher Emissaries) serve in Jewish schools of any affiliation, teaching Hebrew and other subjects,
for 2-3 years. These educators, in addition to discharging their professional responsibilities at the highest standard, also
serve as personal examples for the students and strive to deepen the relationship between them and the State of Israel.
Community Shlichim work in and with communal organizations, serving as a resource for Israel education and
increasing Jewish identity. There are four kinds of Community Shlichim, representing different experience levels and
job descriptions:
• Ofek Shlichim are aged 22-30, with or without a college degree
• Shachar Shlichim are young professionals aged 28-32 and have both a college degree and proven professional

     experience.
• Senior Shlichim are 30 or older, and are often joined by their families. They have a B.A. degree and at least

three years of experience in informal education or community work. They also have experience in management
     and leading projects.
• Yovel Shlichim have vast experience in Jewish communal work and help communities set strategic directions
     at high levels.
Regional Shlichim are available to visit communities in Europe and South America in order to advance projects that
strengthen ties with Israel. Regional Shlichim serve for 2-4 years.
